Year Round Event - Historic Galveston and Galveston Seawall

SANCTIONED: By the American Volkssport Association (AVA), a member of the International Federation of Popular Sports (IVV). Participants in this event may receive credit toward IVV awards.
CREDIT: Each walk can be done as many times as you like for event and kilometer credits. $3.00 must be paid for each event credit, one per day. $3.00 must be paid each time the course is walked for distance credit except that a trail may be walked twice on the same day for one fee. A single $3.00 can be paid on a daily basis for a single event and distance credit.
AWARD: IVV Credit only.
REFRESHMENTS: Water and restrooms are available at the Start/Finish. Water should be carried with you.
REGISTRATION/FEES: Both events use the Online Start Box (OSB). There is NO Physical start Box (PSB). Logon to (or create) your account at https://my.ava.org.
ELIGIBILITY: These events are open to the public and all ages are welcome. Family participation is encouraged but children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Pets are welcome but must be kept on a leash at all times. Pets are NOT allowed inside many establishments.

| TRAIL #1 DESCRIPTION | Historic Galveston (91162 2013/AVA Y1159) - The flat (10 kilometers, 6.2 miles) (rating = 1A, easy) route includes historical sites such as The Strand, University of Texas Medical Branch-Old Red, Ashton Villa, Moody Mansion, Galvez Tremont Hotels, cruise ship viewing and the Galveston Seawall. Some tall curbs may be encountered. Pets are NOT allowed in restaurants. |
TRAIL #2 DESCRIPTION |
Galveston Seawall (91810 2013/AVA Y1526) - This flat (5 and 10 kilometers, 3.1 and 6.2 miles) (rating = 1A, easy) route along the Galveston Seawall passes the Galvez Hotel, Gaido's Restaurant, the 1900 Storm Memorial and 61st fishing Pier. Pets are NOT allowed in businesses along the seawall. |
